Compliance Advisor

The compliance advisor coordinates, with the different distribution networks across Canada, the steps related to the contracting and administration of the market intermediaries, advisors, agents and representatives with the objective of proceeding to their selection and conformity. Also, the advisor must support the Business Development team by acting as a contact person for the communication of politics and procedures, in regards to contracting, with general agents at the national level.

Level of education

  • Bachelor of Laws and member of the Barreau du Québec

Salary

  • Between $ 60,000 and $ 110,000 depending on experience

Description of Tasks

Control and analyze complex requests received from General Agents, its administrative staff and the Business Development team in terms of management / contracting of advisers, intermediaries, agents, representatives and ensure that they are in compliance our policies, procedures and that they can be supported by operational systems;

Acts as a resource person with regard to government regulations and guidelines and collaborates closely with the Business Development team on all questions relating to the contracting of intermediaries, advisers, representatives, affiliated agents and general agents ;

Coordinate and / or participate in the development and maintenance of the directives and procedures of the various products of the company with regard to the regulation of the guidelines and commercial practices and perform the communication activities resulting therefrom;

Represents the Network Compliance sector and contracts under the various external meetings organized by the Business Development sector with MGAs, general agents and their staff in order to present policies and procedures to them.

Analyzes, investigates and evaluates complex requests for the appointment of different intermediaries, advisers, affiliated agents, representatives and makes decisions for the acceptance of their contract with the insurer and follows up with general agents when required;

Monitors, analyzes and produces analyzes, establishes the insurer's guidelines in order to detect risks and ensure the vigilance of advisers presenting failures in their business practices; Ensures the termination of advisers if necessary;
